The kind we had last year was not responsive to otc meds. We had to just comb daily and then oil her hair down at night under a cap. I got them from her the day before I was moving which was also one week before my wedding! It was seriously awful. I have a lot of hair and my then fiancé had to go through every strand. I knew more than ever that I had picked a good man.

Great! I teach cosmetology! I'll be doing extra close lice checks!

There is an episode of Dirty Jobs where they go to a place in California that gets rid of lice naturally. They also talk about lice being resistant to OTC's. It's pretty interesting.

Also, add some tea tree essential oil to the kids shampoo for prevention.

Worked in schools for 15 years, worried about and never got them TG. Never worried about ring worm, hug a kid and rested my cheek for literally one second if that on top of his head, they appeard within 10 minutes. Beware of both and please keep your kids at home if either show up and don't return them until they are treated.

Both my boys and I just got it in July. And my nephew got it too. We were on vacation in a rental home and my son and nephew shared the same bed in the bunk bed while there 3 nights. A week or so later we were back in TX and went to visit my parents where the boys still shared beds and not too long after that my son kept mentioning his head was itching. 3rd day of itching I finally saw a bug. My other son had it too. And we were all sleeping in same bed that week. I ended up with them too. I had to call my brother in GA bc that is where my nephews lived who had been on vacation with us. He ended up with it.
I did two sets of treatments and combed often. So far we are good now. It was awful.

Mix peppermint oil with water and spray the hair daily. Lice don't like peppermint.

My DD had spent the night, slept in the same bed, shared a pillow and a brush with a girl who had a horrible lice infestation discovered two days later.

You can bet they were happily crawling around during the sleepover, but DD didn't get them....thank you, Jesus! I still itched for days, though. Lol.

My youngest got lice when he was about 3 years old from daycare. The otc lice stuff absolutely ruined his scalp. To this day we continue to battle his scalp issues.
