@MooMaw My wife is currently working in aerobic and west lake houston, and we live at Eagles Crest Apartments (Atascocita Rd and Timber Forest rd) she's been BEGGING me to let her buy a bicycle to commute every day as she doesn't drive and doesn't have a car, but I refuse... Even though is only a 3 miles distance, I've seen how people is distracted on their phones or driving like crazy, I'm not willing to risk her life... She's better off walking or waiting until someone at her job gives her a ride but there's no way I will let her ride a bike

I hate the service I have gotten froom AAA over the years - but it does pay for itself - Plus membership w 200 mile tow - last year I had my car towed from High Island to Atascocita after hitting something that took out two tires.Free

@redneck roy Yeah, I mean, I'm pretty sure is not the best option out there but it's pretty cheap for what it's worth, that long trip would've cost you at least a couple of 100s

I got fed up w AAA when the car wash popped my tire and the AAA lady told me it would take hours to get to Atascocita to put on the spare ( yes I know how to do it myself but I didn't have a jack)
My ATT cell phone has the same road side service plan so I cancelled AAA.

@MooMaw It does feel very dangerous to cycle during the day. Recently I rode down W Lake Houston in the afternoon from the Kingwood bridge down to the Deussen turning and it was not fun. People often do not notice bikes or they get too close. I try to avoid riding on the roads now except between 1am and 4:30am when it's quiet. During those hours there isn't much traffic at all, but I've noticed the cops ignore red lights during the night.

@macdaddy my husband tells me the same thing.
