This isn't just happening at Duessan Park. My truck was broken into sitting in the parking lot of Itialianos in Humble at 1:00 on a Saturday afternoon. There was absolutely nothing to take but they still broke in. I grew up going to Duessan Park and now take the grandkids there. Let's just face it....criminal, thugs and thieves are everywhere and just looking for an opportunity to make you a victim.

What mystifies me are the people, and it has been primarily women in my experience, that leap out of the car with the drivers side door open and the engine running. I even saw a couple of ladies do this with children buckled in car seats. I just stare in amazement like don't you watch the news?

I actually approached a lady and asked if she knew how dangerous this was? She looked stunned and said well I just had to run in for a second and get something. We all do stuff we shouldn't but this kind of stuff defies logic.

So true rocket. I had just watched the video of the lady at the gas station fighting the guy for her purse. I even told myself not to leave it yet I still did. Why...I guess just a stupid decision. To add salt to my own wound, 2 days before I purposely only took my license and insurance card because I didn't want to take the purse because of fear of theft. All it takes is one time. Unfortunately it's ladies who carry
big easy to grab purses.

Lately I have started carrying a wrist wallet on the weekends when I go shopping.
I am sorry this happened to you. It is such a pain to have to call & replace everything, and also fix the window.

That sucks! Our credit card info was recently stolen, it was such a pain to change the recurring bill payments.
I carry wrist wallet too. Sometimes not even that, just the driver's license a card and some cash in my pocket.
I definitely don't leave the purse in the car, I lock the doors while filling up at the gas stations and I never leave DD in a running car. She wants to stay when it's too hot or cold but I drag her with me all the time. Maybe we're over protective but better be safe than sorry.

I have a phone cover that holds a few cards and a couple of bills. That is all I take when out but is a problem sometimes. I wanted to run in Sams yesterday but didn't have the card. At least, if they get my phone there's only a couple of cards to call.
