making little jokes abut this will not stop it from being built if they so desire to continue this venture.

Whatever happened to the Observer newspaper story on this? I've been watching for it, but I haven't seen it yet, has anybody else?

So, a murder happened at the lovely Palace Inn location on 59 near Humble:
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man and the wounding of a woman at 15707 Eastex Freeway service road, just south of Greens Road near Humble, about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.

Ramirez and Duran were staying at the Palace Inn when they heard a commotion outside. Duran looked outside and saw the suspect, her ex-husband, flattening the tires of two vehicles. She then told Ramirez, who went outside and was immediately assaulted and stabbed by the suspect, Duran. Duran also stabbed his ex-wife in the chest before two witnesses were able to tackle and hold him. Source: www.yourhoustonnews. com/cypresscreek/saf ecommunities/man-acc used-of-stabbin

So......A two year old incident at 59 & Greens Rd is cause for alarm at a new motel?

Check out their website. No hourly rates just budget nightly rates. Out of the 39 locations most are sold out tonight. Looks to be the same quality as a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn. I think you folks are all worked up over nothing. Unless someone here has specific use of the hotel by the hour with hookers from the parking lot.....

Even if you are correct, my concern is that our community will not be able to sustain 4 hotel/roach motels and one or more will end up closing and becoming an eyesore.

Drive about 15 miles down 1960. That is our future.

Yeah, you're right. If everything you pointed out were correct, we really need a "Motel 6" kind of joint in Atascocita.

Sigh.

I agree it sucks they are going to build here. My company has a lot of people travelling to Houston and I try to put them up as close as possible to where I live if I have to work with them. I would say 8 out of 10 times I have tried to put them at the Best Western or Holiday Inn here in Atascocita they were all sold out. I am not a fan of these low budget places either but it is inevitable apparently. The Palace Inn is no beauty and my out of towners wouldn't stay there, but I bet many others will. With all of the development between 1960 and BW8 I bet we see more businesses that have few local fans.

So if it doesn't bother you it should be ok ? Because it happened 2 yrs ago ? I no longer have young children out playing & at the park & walking to a friends on the next street are riding their bike . I also don't back up to where this will be built . I do care & worry about who will( or might) be after other people's kids .

Have you not read all the info put up on page 5 of this thread ? The Palace Inn in no way sounds like something I want to live near .My age group took part in the Civil Rights movement , we protested Vietnam & my husband served our country in Vietnam even though I was 100 % against it .I would think younger people would stand up & fight against this .

It has already been said by 1 person on here to go & protest at the City of Houston permit dept .I should think someone could take the bull by the horns & put an article in the newspaper with all the places info can be found about the Palace Inn & how unhappy you & others are . Set up a meeting location at a park if need be , at a fire station or Rosemont they do not charge for their meeting room ..If just 20 people get 50 names on a petition each that is 1000 names . Go stand in front of the grocery store 2 or 3 people together getting names . At the gas station the Churches should be able to get a bunch of names .
