>> I ride my bike around 2am-4am a lot of days, and then get to hear about these events happening in the streets I was in a couple of hours prior. Still not as scary as the cars that almost hit me though, or the loose dogs, or the drunks wandering around in the middle of the road.
@Anurania:
Geez Louise where are you riding ????I use to grocery shop all the time between 1 & 3 in the morning & I never saw anyone out in my hood .
@bbk:
I've been exploring all over. Sometimes I ride up through Kingwood into Porter. Other times I cross the bridge to Huffman and beyond, and recently I've been investigating what's South of here. Atascocita and Kingwood are pretty quiet at night. The loose dogs I saw were on Atascocita Road near Old Humble Road, and the person wandering in the road was on 494 near Porter. I couldn't make out what he was trying to say and I wasn't about to stop and find out. There are a few aggressive drivers out there, particularly on Northpark. They race each other in both lanes and then push me against the edge of the road, and I never know how much pavement there might be. Sometimes beyond the white line it's just grass or a ditch. I've adopted a policy of claiming the right lane when there are two lanes, otherwise they just get too close. Some roads have paths alongside them, but they appear and disappear at random and sometimes just end in the middle of nowhere, so most of the time I'm forced onto the road.
