Two American medical personnel now infected. If the terrorists wanted to kill many and reign havoc , let some suicide "bombers" get infected and send them worldwide. This concerns me for more than any other terrorist threat

Really the only protection you have to general hand washing, staying away from people coughing or sneezing and don't touch your face. It is passed by droplet, so if someone coughs on their hands and then touches a door knob and then you touch the same knob soon after, then touch your nose, eyes or mouth it could be transmitted. Wash hands frequently and use hand sanitizer. If he/you are worried, get some medical masks to keep with him if he HAS to be around someone coughing or sneezing.

Unfortunately this disease is only a plane ride away to the U.S. as we are an open society. Although there is some thought of rudimentary screening at international airports, that wouldn't be effective unless medical personnel were stationed there on a 24 hour basis. Of course there are illegal aliens to further muddy the waters. I don't think there is the political will to do what needs to be done.

So what can we do? Probably not a damn thing.

There never is. That's why this country will resemble a third world country in 20 years.

@AtascaGuy:

If that should ever happen, one party couldn't blame the other. So in that instance, a pox on both their houses.

You're right. I don't really like either 'party'. They both play games and look down on their constituents.

I do lean conservative a bit, but more of my views are libertarian in nature. I don't fit in one box, like I guess, most people.

I worry about biohazards and biological weapons. Including Ebola and Bubonic Plague...some of our missionaries are in Africa right now and I do not know which part. Eeek!

From Brantly's bed in an isolation ward — where he and Samaritan's Purse colleague Nancy Writebol are both being treated for Ebola symptoms — the Texas physician sent this message back to his friends at JPS:

"I'm praying fervently that God will help me survive this disease. Please continue to pray along with me and pray for my friend Nancy who is also very sick, and for the doctors who are taking care of us. Thank you all so much. Peace, Kent."

Prayers for the American Missionaries sacrificing their lives on foreign soil.
