Oh I am sure some are.... You don't think they are paying attention?
They see an opportunity there?

Have you been to London or Paris in the last few years?

@macdaddy:

No & I have not heard you taking about going there either .

And the answer to all of this is?

@tb505:

Deportation. Being a guest in a Country is a privilege not a right and when you incite violence or other treasonous acts should be called for immediate actions. You do have right to free speech but you cannot yell fire in a crowded theater, I am glad Germany and Netherlands are finally catching on.

Just a random question. Since I moved here I have noticed large groups of labor intent men in lots and hanging around trees at corners etc.. I have seen many people pick up groups of them and hmmmmmmm I wonder, who are these people that pick them up and where do they take them to work? Are they meeting a need for this person and are they being paid for their services? What makes the Texas businessman that does business like this think this is the route to go. Seems to me that if people don't cross the border , they will not have employees to pick up at the corner.
Just sayin

This concept is everywhere and not exclusive to Texas. I can tell you hundred of spots nationwide where I can see day labors being picked up for their services. Businesses are looking to make extra thanks to big taxes being imposed on them.

@chasinghosts:

as long as the opportunity exists to make money to send home for their families, they will continue to come. Once established, they will attempt to bring their family.

We really need a work program like Canada.

anybody own stock in these two firms that exploit labor so you can have cheap bananas.

They are coming to the US for the same reason immigrants from Ireland, Scotland, and all other areas came - opportunity.

@macdaddy:

funding is based on the origin of the request. If Obama requested it - Feds would pay; Perry request - State pays.

by the way - according to CNN - no official request has been made; only lip service on campaign trail.

I was in Cincinnati, they do not do that up north, anywhere. I haven't seen it anywhere else in the south either, but they may. We taught not to ever pick up strangers, as that could get you killed. What brought me to Texas is an ill family member who may need help at times, so I am here helping. It certainly wasn't the heat LOL!
