>> One would think at 26 you are sort of getting your compass headed in the right direction. This is such a mess. I am back to trying to reconcile how you are qualified to be at the Assistant Principal level at a large high school in a big district in such a short span of time.

It's a big jump to go from making porn-ish video's to Associate Principal in less than 10 years time.

To her credit, she is a very beautiful lady and sometimes pretty ladies have lot's of enemies. SMH over here.

Really glad my GS is graduating in a few days and then we are done with SCHS!

@lana7018:

According to the internets, she does have a master's degree in educational administration from A&M.

@brightlights:

So, it may be reasonable to say she did this video KNOWING she would be an educator, possibly, while in the process of getting her education.

SMH....

@HmSclMom:

Right? I have to say, though, that maybe it would be unreasonable to fire her by virtue of the video alone (in younger years, on her own time, etc...hey, to each her own! Emoticon ), but she should have foreseen potential/future consequences given her field of study at the time (she wasn't a dumb teenager!). Sad, but like I said, it's now WAY too big of a distraction, right or wrong, for her to continue in an administrative role expecting to be taken seriously by any student body, and girlfriend needs to just quietly resign and save a little dignity (though this scenario doesn't seem like a component of her DNA! LOL). This video has spread like wildfire.

I feel bad for her in a way. I wonder if she has had this possibility following and haunting her through the years, and BAM! Here it is! Maybe a little sigh of relief before moving on?

@brightlights:

Yeah it is unfortunate for everyone involved. I'm with you, I kind of feel bad for her. What a terrible choice to have made.

I think the school just needs to put the fire out and move on. This is not going to go away.

@HmSclMom:

I totally agree with you. Emoticon She's obviously a very smart and educated young woman and hopefully she'll move on from this...but given her position in a HIGH SCHOOL ( Emoticon ), it is what it is! Time to put the proverbial boxing gloves down and walk away. The internet is a very unforgiving thing. Never goes away.

Hurst, on the other hand...seems he never learned the hard way even though age and experience should have clued him in by now. Two totally different scenarios.

God is in my heart and I didn't realize he was not welcome in schools ,so when I go to school do I have to check him at the door?
And you are correct that the problems at the school are not an excuse for student deregulatory action,but they should be able to expect a professional learning environment that is run by people in authority who exhibit professional behavior.

Most of the information that these kids get is from each other I doubt most parents are at the dinner table saying Lovey did you hear that Thryston was donking 2 teachers at the school and could you please pass the milk?

@Ghetto?:

I don't doubt he's in your heart. As for the schools they took prayer out a long time ago. Which is a direct derative of removing God from our public schools. Again, I'm stating a fact.

As for parents discussing who bones who and then requesting to pass the milk I'm not sure about that. I am sure of one thing .... Don't drink the kool-aid at Summercreek! Just saying!!!!?!

Lol I don't know what's in the water at SCHS so I probably won't be drinking any kool-aide from there.God and the government is a bit more nuanced.Remember the Pilgrims came here to escape religious prosecution by government and that fact was not lost on our founding fathers.We are still trying to figure out exactly what delineates separation of church and state.Freedom of religion is one of the tenants that makes this country great.I think students are allowed to pray in school as long as it is not an official school activity.Most of the kids in my extended family attended parochial schools and are no worse for that experience,a couple without a doubt qualify for salt of the earth status.Not everyone can afford that and the good news is that if the parents try to raise kids with good morals and values then they should be just fine.Sometimes though life throws you a curve ball and great parents end up with a child that does not turn out so good and other times parents who struggle or don't care or whatever end up with kids who amazingly turn out quite well.

The short, mandatory, public prayers were nothing more than a ritual during my public school days. What caught our attention was what grown-ups were DOING!

Excellent point. And my parents knew nothing about the goings on at school! And I sure didn't share. My kids treat me the same -
How was your day?
Good
Anything interesting to share?
Nope, what's for dinner?

Thank goodness for FB and this site. Lol!

I've been trying not to weigh in with much of an opinion on the AP. I don't know her, I don't have a biological kid at her school....but she could transfer to one of my son's schools. I do have kids there who I love like my own. So fair or not...

My irrational emotional self says a skank is a skank. Not only was she willing to participate in an orgy on a public video...my imagination runs wild thinking how she got that gig in the first place, what happened off camera, etc. I've read some of those rocker and rapper exposes...groupies and women like these participate in some pretty deviant behavior.

The lioness in me says get this person out of my community.

As for prayer.... It is never a mistake! It was God's plan before it was apart of our school district.

As for corruption, every school has corruption they just got caught!

As for the kids misbehaving there is NO excuse! Be accountable don't blame others for the decisions you make this will always make you a LEADER.

In life, one man's successes can only be measured by himself as well as his failures.

Her trashy video or who he sleeps with has nothing to do with corrupt behavior exhibited by students. Students must remember their behavior represents their family no more no less!

Be blessed.[quote-end-tag-mismatch]

@lynnsgirl:

I think you missed the message.He or she is saying that prayer is fine but in it's proper place. We should pray that as a community we deal with the corruption instead of saying every school has corruption they just got caught.What message does that send,it's ok if you don't get get caught.HISD has had a rash of bad actors lately that have now been exposed.It is time that we as a community tell the leaders of our district to no longer tolerate this corruption.All of this saddens me because I know of good teachers and admins who will now be unfairly be tainted by the actions of these bad actors.I believe the student who wrote this had a point that we should expect and work to attain better from our district.The student missed the mark when speaking of not blaming students for acting in an outlandish way, had the students decided to all gather outside of school and had a short moment of silence to demonstrate that what is going on in the school is unacceptable,that would have been more appropriate and far more effective.[quote-end-tag-mismatch]

@Ghetto?:

No, I completely understand her stance.

Again, prayer held anywhere at anytime can heal all circumstances. There is no PROPER place to pray. I assure you if God was still invited into the schools we would all be better off. (That's another thread I'm sure)

As for corruption, it is a fact that all schools have it and will continue to have it until caught. I stated the facts.

As for the kids, they have no right to act out deregulatory at school no matter what the AP or ***. AP is doing. As a matter of fact, w/o parents discussing things in front of their kids they wouldn't know half the crap they do.

JMO, Be blessed.

Ghetto? hit the nail on the head with my stance. I'm all for praying about this situation, just not at the school. A Christian prayer on campus is a great way to alienate the non-Christians at the school, who aren't given a large, public opportunity to pray/worship/meditate/reflect in their own way. If SCHS was a private Christian school, this would be completely different. Simply put, God doesn't teach me about calculus in church, so why should God have anything to do with the calculus I am taught at school?

Yes, every school has its problems. But having attended a different high school (out of the Houston area) my freshman year, SCHS for 3 years, and now university for 2 years, I can say from my experience that SCHS had the most problems. As Ghetto? said, it's up to the community to deal with the corruption, and put an end to it.

Has anyone thought that some of the students may not have perfect lives at home? They could be abused, neglected, use drugs or alcohol, or have to work to help their families. School might have been the only stable place they have. And when the one place they put their trust suddenly becomes filled with what is happening at home, they break. When a few kids start acting crazy, mob mentality wins over and soon the whole group is in revolt. Most of the kids respected the faculty, and when that one person you respect and trust is not the person they claim to be, it can be crushing. What the students did was wrong, there is no denying that, but they were pushed to act that way by their environment. In the perfect world, the students would have went outside for a moment of silence, write a list of complaints, or set up a peaceful protest outside the school and/or HISD headquarters. But these are kids, not mature adults, and something like that, in the heat of the moment, would be the last thing on their minds.

I don't think (to my knowledge, at least) that there are many students/alumni on this forum. If anyone has any questions about SCHS that they want answered from a former student's prospective, feel free to ask. (:

@HumbleGirl:

In all honesty we probably have a number of "skanks" who are now thought of as pillars of the community. The saving grace for the skanks who are over 50 is that there was no social media in their day. So in most cases they were allowed to skank it up with only memories left to condemn them. And if by chance someone was to approach them and say "Hey wasn't you the one that..." They will look at the person with a straight face and go "nah, wasn't me".

That's fair. Like I said, I don't feel great about my feelings on this...I do try to see the good in people, give second chances, offer mercy....

But I guess I'm human afterall.
