Yeah...it's something that my Grandma started, and I remember it every year. Maybe that is why I don't like raisinettes!

>> No wonder kids are obese. Why not give them what Bugs eats - carrots.

@tb505:

They aren't all obese. But you didn't really think that, did you? Bless your heart.

@AtascaGuy:

In 2012, more than one third of children and adolescents were overweight or obese. CDC

They are besieged with "junk" advertising from candy, fast food, cereal, etc.

Carrots are a lot different than rats or dog food.

I think that's hilarious! Emoticon My kids would have totally dug that when they were younger...wish I had thought of that!

Some Debbie Downers on this thread. Blah.

My kids don't believe anymore, but they still get baskets full of obese-generating crap ( FTR, none of my kids are obese Emoticon ) and age appropriate gifts. They'll get Easter baskets as long as I'm able to put them together for them. It's just my thing. Like gifts from Santa under the tree every year. Emoticon

I always pack a basket with their favorite items. I use the same basket every year and no non candy/snack items allowed. Then I do eggs with treats and money inside and we do a hunt. I rarely have allowed egg coloring but I'm going to try and fit that in this year. And we do confetti eggs which is a tradition that came from my husbands family and I truly hate it. I try to stand in front of a tree with fists balled until all of the eggs are spent!

@757beach:

Exactly....everything in moderation.

Letting your kids eat whatever they want, whenever they want, go out for fast food too often, and watching too much tv and playing video games rather than play outside and be active is what makes kids obese/un-healthy/or overweight.

Yesterday morning my youngest and the last "bunny believer" in the house asked me " Mama, which day is the bunny coming?"

I froze. I forgot about the bunny.

My little believer's grandfather passed away Sunday evening. DH and I have been preoccupied with memorial planning and completely forgot...about the bunny.

Thank God Target was still well stocked today.

Bunny is coming rain or shine. Ready for resurrection day.
