My husband was the one that went and got them, and for 3 of them, it was around $10.

Took my daughters Friday. Gotta say it was the best snow cone I've ever eaten.

I really hope the hype dies down, I'd like to go again.

The line was out of the door and the drive through was out to Atascacita Rd.

I saw the line on Saturday night and wondered if it was just because it was new or really so, so good. Can anyone who has been compare it to a real shaved ice from Hawaii? (The real deal - North Shore!)

@lana7018:

Their shaved ice is really good, but really...how "so, so good" can flavored ice be? Emoticon Imo, the crazy lines are more the hype/newness of it. The drive-thru runs pretty slowly (they appear to making everything, including shaving the ice, to order), so don't expect it to be quick like a fast food restaurant.

But it is yummy! The kids all like the little umbrella in the ice and the color changing spoons! Emoticon

They also have fruit and ice cream smoothies with additive options (protein, ginseng, etc. like Smoothie King).

@ undecided

You explained the lines at "color changing spoons" and "little umbrella's" for now. I'll let the fresh bloom of newness wear off and then give them a try.

The only place I'll stand in line for shave ice is in Halawei, Hawaiii at Matsumoto Shave Ice. That is my "gold" standard but a bit far to make much of a regular habit of. Only every other year or so at best.

I've never been a sno-cone person, as I grew up with Sno-Cones being those hard, crunchy balls of ice with syrup poured over it, and never too -impressed with that.

We went to "The One Place" for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and it was good, but not really anything that I would wait in line for 30 minutes for.

Tried Bahama Bucks the 2nd day it was open, and tried the "Sweet Tart" flavor, and it was awesome. We will be regulars there for sure.

Shaved ice makes the best son-cones. Back in the day, in Northshore, there was this tiny little hut, near the bowling alley, that made their own homemade syrup and use shaved ice. Haven't had one since that was nearly as good. Sounds like this new place might be very similar.
