These are public meetings The law now says we have a right to our legal documents but we have to write & send the request certified mail . We have a right to know 200 people have not paid their dues just not WHO those 200 folks are . If the Board is negotiating contracts over landscape companies & they have not decided on the one they want yet of course they can't talk about that in public till after the company is chosen . If a homeowner has a deed restriction violation & the Board & that person can't work it out & the person threatens the Board of course the person would be told this will only be discussed in executive session . That is a personal matter that is between them & for the Board to uphold our deed restrictions going through this process .It is not this type of stuff we complain about . We are an older subdivision & many many of us have been here for many years & love our Homes & Atascocita . We have sales in Atascocita each month just like everyone else but we have the lake & boat ramp that Eagle Springs does not & low HOA fees of $475 per year . After all some can't afford or don't want to pay $700 or $800 per yr . We still have as far as I know 2 WW2 vets alive & a lot over here that served in Vietnam. Our age group has fought wars & SOME of us protested Vietnam & most believe in freedom of speech in person in an email, newspaper,Tv , at a meeting OR THIS PUBLIC SITE . And we also understand that others have the same freedom & perhaps different opinions . Not once have you seen me tell anyone to stop talking about all the crap in Washington although I see others make fun of these post or say they wish we would stop & not just ACIA but other stuff . If I don't like it or I'm not interested I don't read it or voice my opinion . One person said they read it to laugh at . When it is unfair treatment of homeowners I find that person to be very mean spirited .
ACIA has too many executive session, the ACIA board, last month allowed a non (ACIA) member to attend the executive sesson to discuss a 4th of July function at the Overlook. What is so secret about that, to warrant a meeting in executive session.
