I've read the whole article. (Let's start with that.) I absolutely do not agree with Phil's take on what he thinks "sin" is. That being said, his opinion (and it's simply that) does not affect what I believe or how I live my life. I don't give a rat's *** what any TV celebrity, actress or actor, or community activist states as their opinion either.
I watch the show sometimes, and respect that this family sticks to what they believe and stand up for it. Very few of us will really stand up for what we believe and very often settle into public opinion to avoid conflict. ("What would the neighbors say!")
The network who makes millions off this show knows good and well what Phil Robertson thinks and believes. Their reaction to pull him off the show was hilarious to me. Really, was anyone really surprised to find out Phil thinks homosexuality is a sin? In his case he was't calling for America to rise up and bash gay people. He spoke about love, compassion and letting God provide his judgement in the end. You know what Phil? I'm fine with that too.
I personally believe in a loving, compassionate God who make us all equal in his eyes. He alone knows my heart, and he alone knows the hearts of gay people everywhere who love God just as much as Phil Robertson or any of the rest of us.
