Good grief..... Why all the hating on Kingwood??? You like where you live? Great! Good for you! I'm sure most of Kingwood likes living where they chose to live also. Just because some people have money, doesn't make them snobs. They're just people like you and me. There's nice people everywhere, just like there's not so nice people everywhere. Stereotyping is just so ..... lame.

@jae:

I think what people have a problem with is that on the KINGWOOD board, they were bashing "the other side of the tracks", aka, us in the Atascocita area.

I personally have no issues with Kingwood at all, and think it's a lovely place, and I don't have any issues with any Kingwoodians. We did, and still would consider living there, but we like where we are now better and will probably stay put.

All I ever heard about Kingwood's notable former residents was a porn star and George Foreman.

@abisho1:

Don't forget about actor Jackson Rahtbone (I'm sure most of you are scratching your head, thinking who????) who played Jasper in the Twilight series!

I thought that this is what this thread is all about....somebody saw on the "other site" (meaning K.com) that there was a thread that mentioned that they thought those from Atascocita were beneath them. I no longer visit the other site, but I used to, so I didn't see it personally.

It was on the other other site. Not KDC that I know of.

But anyway, who cares. There has always been a rivalry...embrace it!

When I was doing field work, he had a home off of that little subdivision near 59 @ Will Clayton....Pin Oak, Cypress Dr, Live Oak....I cannot remember the exact street though....

@AtascaGuy:
North Hollow was the name of the subdivision. Three days before we closed on our new home there a really heavy rain came & I was worried about how the yard drained & we drove up to take a look & discovered the house had an almost endless amount of roof leaks & we didn't close . I forgot the street but he had a house there before he moved to Atas .I think that was 1978 or 1979does that time sound right to you Atasguy ?

I was actually working there in the early 90s, and a few co-workers said he still owned the house. Not sure about now though.

I thought this thread was kind of silly; so was the thread on the other site; definitely nothing on it about Atascocita that was worse than what appears on here on a regular basis. don't take it so serious.

@AtascaGuy:

After he flooded in Kingwood they built a house in the Commons in Huffman. My guess is the building that would hold cars would maybe hold 15 vehicles. This was a big building .
