Goode Company BBQ is about the closest worth paying for. The smoked cold water duck is great if you like dark meat. You can also buy dry aged beef from them for your own backyard BBQ. The other I like that is true “pit master” style is the Salt Lick in the Austin area. Other than that I agree that the taste and opinion is all your own. I have been in many BBQ cook offs and find that what you think does not matter…your meat is only as good as the judge’s taste for BBQ and most of the time they don’t know good BBQ. For those who like to smoke or bbq… Pete’s Fine meats on Richmond, Hubbell and Hudson in the Woodlands has some exotic dry aged or regular meats and game. Vernon’s can get what you want if you ask.

Putting it by Subway on Timber Forest is too close to SC. Down past WLH makes more sense.
