I broke the cardinal purse safety rule. Decided to meet my husband after work at the dog park in Humble. Left my purse in floor behind the driver seat. I thought I was concealing my body language by not making it obvious that I set it there. Covered it with a jacket still thinking I wasn't moving my shoulders as I placed it behind me. Anyhow, left the park after 25 minutes because I didn't like how aggressive a certain dog gets. Discovered my car window was broken and the purse gone. I even debated taking it with me. I new I shouldn't have left it and yet I still did. Point of this is. It happened to a lady 2 weeks ago and another before her. So don't leave your personal stuff in the car anywhere and certainly not at Duessen. So bummed because I loved that purse. Now I'm scared they will come to my house.

Lot of this going on lately, saw a family a few weeks ago at the park with a broken window. Lady's purse and some other items had been taken. They were filing a report with the police.

Why do some people ruin it for others? There is or was a Sheriff Sub-Station in Deussen Park. Wonder if it is still there. Sorry they got your purse and happy they didn't get you!

I know lol. When I was fishing with my coworker /friend at Eisenhower park next to Duessen, we had guys scope out our vehicles passing by every minute to see if we fished elsewhere and I told my friend lets go.

When we moved here 30+ years ago you did NOT go to Deussen Park. Then they cleaned it up, put a Sheriff in there, had a huge pen of big buffalo and it was really nice. We took our daughter for picnics there quite often. Sorry to hear it is rough again. And there are nice houses being built out there around it.

Yes Cbp210, I'll take a double JJ saddlery purse, matching wallet and make up case. Lol. Well, we all know I should have not left the purse but dang those little jerks for being scum and stealing it. They went straight to walmart and made several purchases on me. Even better a cop was there in the dog park parking lot but left when I pulled up. I saw cops driving around but the crooks just had better timing.

This is so wrong on so many levels.
Some people just choose to steal, unfortunately it is up to us to try and prevent this. A pain in the butt.
Thank you for posting this information.

Ladies clearly someone was watching 4x4 very closely. If you are going to a park or mall or whatever and you will not be carrying your purse, conceal it before you get to your destination and then the *&^$#&))*()%#@%&^ won't see an opportunity to make you a victim.

Purse + information contained + broken window= A very bad day.

I learned my lesson a few years ago when my Coach Diaper bag was stolen out of our car when parked at the Trader Joe's in River Oaks. I was lucky enough to take a wristlet that had all of my credit cards, ID, and other important stuff with me, and the butt-head thieves ended up with a diaper bag full of baby related stuff, and unfortunately my cell phone, but I was due for an upgrade, and got a new one for free. I was very bummed about losing that diaper bag though, Oh well, at least I got it on sale! The worst part of it all was having to pay a few hundred bucks for a new window. After that, even if it's just running into daycare to pick up my kid, I always have to take my purse with me. People just suck these days, you can't trust anyone anymore.
