The Kingwood Big Band has officially adopted a new name: The Kingwood Jazz Orchestra. This exciting change reflects the ensembles continued growth into a full-scale, modern jazz orchestra with a broad and dynamic musical identity. The new name highlights the group’s commitment to presenting an expansive repertoire that spans jazz, swing, pop, and Latin styles, performed with the power, precision, and versatility of a traditional jazz orchestra. Featuring five saxophones, four trombones, five trumpets, and a dynamic rhythm section, the ensemble delivers a rich and energetic sound that honors the great traditions of jazz while embracing contemporary musical influences.

This evolution represents more than a name change—it signals the orchestra’s dedication to both timeless classics and the vibrant sounds that define today’s jazz landscape.
