Guests are in for a “wicked” good time at the Lone Star College-Kingwood music faculty concert, “A Stellar Evening.”

Members of the award-winning music faculty will be showcasing their amazing talent. And it’s all for a good cause – to raise money for student scholarships.

Michael Johnson, Interim Music Department Chair, says faculty members will be singing a variety of songs from genres including Classical, Broadway, Opera, Latin, Brass, and even some songs from the hit musical, “Wicked.”

“Stellar Evening" is more than a concert—it's a celebration of music, community, and opportunity. Join us for a night of unforgettable performances by our talented faculty, delicious treats from local businesses, and exciting prizes, all in support of student scholarships!”

Many students have benefited from the money raised during past concerts, including Andres Aristimuno. He is pursuing a degree in vocal performance.

“It helped me pay for my classes. I pay out of my own pocket, and I have two jobs, and I help sustain my family, so this scholarship has helped me pay for most of my classes.”

Emil Tudor says studying music has been the best decision he’s ever made, and the scholarship funds ensured he could continue his dreams.

“I came into college not really knowing what I wanted to do, and I did music because I enjoyed doing choir in both middle school and high school. And it was quite possibly the best decision I’ve ever made in my life, because I’ve found myself, I’ve found friends here, I’ve found a really good support system. I’ve learned so much being here, and I really think that this has been just a really great place for me to be. “

Guests who attend “A Stellar Evening” will also enjoy a variety of appetizers and desserts and the chance to win door prizes.

The event will be held on the LSC-Kingwood campus in the Music Instructional Building Recital Hall on Saturday, February 1st at 7:30 pm Tickets are available here or to donate directly to the scholarship fund, click here.

Proceeds benefit the LSC-Kingwood Music Scholarship Fund.
