TSUalum05 : if you don't mind me asking, what do u carry? I have heard glock19, sig 210 are best, but i don't know... planning to buy and carry... of course practice too.

@Krisztina1 :

I carry several but my preference when I run is a Glock 23. I'm personally into Glock more than anything else.

If you want to get your Licence to Carry, please PM me. I've been teaching those courses since 2009.

Oh wow, I am wondering why the media isn't saying anything about the rape. I will be extra careful doing anything alone.

@gigem09 : Right?! They're playing it off like it was not a brutal beating and rape. It's just crazy to minimize the severity of it like this.

@TSUalum05 : Thanks for your answer. Why Glock 23, and not 19? And for a female - to run with - would something lighter, like Ruger 38 caliber be better? Also, is Glock23 a 40 cal? Should I care about 38 cal, 40 cal or 9 mm? I really need help... or should I just go to a gun store and try it all out? Thank you again.... and yes, I will have to get my License to Carry...

@Krisztina1 :

Everything is all a matter of preference. The Glock 23(.40 Cal) and 19 (9mm) are both the same size. The difference is the caliber. To me, it doesn't matter much about the caliber size. It's all about shot placement. Definitely, go to a gun range or even better a gun show to hold and holster as many firearms as possible. Do not ever buy a firearm from a department store such as Academy. Sportsman Outlet and
Everyman Tactical Guns & Coffee (59 and 1960) both have some of the best prices in Humble and all of the Houston area.

Bump. I just read how this was a brutal rape. I did not interpret that from the initial report. Kingwood is right next to us and the sicko is still out there. Two reports of girls being followed in the area close to the park. Everyone be alert and call the police if you see anything out of place.

@BusyMommy : Yes, I heard it was very brutal, as well. The guy could be anywhere now. Scary for sure.
