Well spent 20 years in Atascocita and never had to replace the hot water heater. Got up yesterday and nothing but cold water lovely, got sticker shock when I started looking for a new one. I called a couple of plumbers, and the cost was 3200.00 to 5800.00 for a plain 40-gallon hot water heater, I thought I will by one and install it myself. Finally found one online at ACE hardware for 567.00 and called a local handyman and he charged me by the hour to install, and it was 250.00 The last hot water tank I had installed was in 2004 and it was less than 550,00 if I remember correctly.
