@SteelerNation
There was a a guideline . Just because it doesn't cater to YOU doesn't mean it doesn't exist . We have sold well over a thousand copies of the yearbook, a measly 20 upset parents is nothing . Nobody else is pressed, I wonder why

@SteelerNation I think you're confused as to how yearbook works . It is a class that is run by a paid teacher that had a degree pertaining to the subject . It is not run by students . Which means it was signed off on .
@Ataslp Are you in the class to verify? I know it was not edited by the teacher. One reason he was doing that today! I have had issues in the past and was explained the process. No need for "adult"sign off when you have "senior"(title)editors doing that job.
@CE3673 Yes I am in the class to verify and he does do a final edit . Of course things like typos happen but it's a very big book . He saw all of the quotes before they were posted . The reason they are being edited is because parents are upset . Yet this generation is mocked and called snowflakes and we are " sensitive"
I promise you that your children have seen worse on the internet , and heard worse from classmates .
Since you made your account to start commenting ataslp...... What would you have done if you were handed the quote from a senior for the book......."I'm just trying to die."? Resting there as that was the big issue I had!
@CE3673 I really hope that kids pic is not associated with it the quote. That could be more damming. Was this a joke?
@CE3673 No im not doenplaying suicide . I think it's serious and though I think the show 13 reasons is cliche I think that it did an excellent job of raising awareness for suicide and bullying . That being said , we are teenagers there's millions of us that house social media accounts where we interact with each other daily . We post " I want to die " " I want to kill my self " etc not literally . It's all jokes for the most part . But the student that put that quote was pulled into the office to make sure they were okay .
OMG! Yes, I'm sure our kids see, hear, say, do worse things on Internet or their lives but it doesn't mean we as parents want to see that in the SCHOOL yearbook!
"You can't choose your dad but you can choose your daddy". How is that appropriate?!
"You can't choose your dad but you can choose your daddy". How is that appropriate?!
@yomom Because it's not relatable . If I post " I want to die" thousands of people can " relate " like "wow me too I had a bad day " , if you put something else behind it then pool of people that felt the same way is diminished .

@Ataslp
@TXNS_fan It's only inappropriate if you make it so. What's wrong with having a " daddy" ? Exactly . The yearbook shouldn't be here liable because YOU interpreted something and someone did another way
