Travel Insurance?

You can buy individual policy for each trip - but it does add up. I travel enough that I just buy an annual policy.There are a few- fairly good options out there. I never had to file a claim - but did get approval to file once.It probably isnt as critical for travel within the states - but if you travel abroad - it can be critical. Medical flights to come home start in the 6 figure range and go up.I've known a few people who managed to get injured while traveling - some fairly minor - - some very critical

I use Dan Travel Insurance personally (annual)Allianz is a popular one for one-off trips

@redneckroy : Thanks for your answer. Do you mind if I ask how much the annual policy is? We've always bought trip insurance. Had to use it once when I had to cancel due to a death in the family.

That's awful about the person who was critically injured. I have a friend who started buying trip insurance after her dh got pneumonia right before a cruise. She never bought before because she felt that they were relatively young and healthy. They took the cruise anyway. They would have canceled if they had had insurance. Her dh doesn't remember anything of the cruise because he was so sick. Seems to me that they took a huge risk.

I will look later to see how much I paid. They have three teirs and it seems like just me was @ $800 and adding dw was around 50,% more
