@Cabin_Mama
Here's the thing. I took it there because I needed it fixed expecting to pay a few bucks to do it. They said I needed rotation and I told them go ahead. I expected to pay for it. When they finished they told me there was no charge. I bought my tires somewhere else a while back. I will go back there to buy my tires again. Their warranties have always been great. The warranties are included in the price of the tires. They don't charge for mounting, balancing, valve stems or anything else. You also get a free rotation later. It's just the price of the tires plain and simple. They don't have contacts that I know of and have replaced tires for me before also for free. Hey really have been good to everyone I know that's been there. For a big chain I think they are great

Completely worth it. I have two cars with pricey performance tires and we live in a new neighborhood with lots of construction. Have replaced 4 tires due to nails in the last year.

I also love Discount Tire, bought a new SUV and they let me add the road hazard even though the tires were not from them (obviously). Given our recent issues with nails they also agreed to keep an extra tire in the size and type that we need so they can replace it same day when the inevitable occurs. Always great service.

I love Discount - great company, they treat their employees very well.

I have road hazard and was very happy I did when I had a damaged $350 tire recently!

Discout tire for me Too. They will price match online prices (with shipping).

You dont have to buy the road hazard warranty. They have a default road hazard warranty thet is prorated based on tread depth.

They will work with you on getting warranty for your tires if they wear out early. You usually have to buy the same brand but at a discount.

I don't deal with the big chains - they all suck pretty much. Consider Dan's Tire Shop on Wilson Rd. Local, fast, no problems. They do not keep a huge stock, so they will have them next day usually. Prepare to pay cash.

@Cabin_Mama :

What is the value you get from them? I mean, I am all for personalized service, but if they don't have a huge stock, how can that be fast? What about price and what's include? Is it discounted because it's cash only?

I don't like DT charging the tire disposal fee and charging for the valves, but every time I need tires I end up at DT because they have what I'm looking for, they are fast and the price is good.

as with any company they do have issues, but Discount Tire always stands behind their work. I had 4 tires replaced and the center caps were not put on correctly. I noticed this when i got home and i was missing two of them. they replaced the center caps for me from the dealer.

@sandman :

I guess I just like working with a small local place better. I came in, he ordered tires and called me to say they were ready, I came back in and they put them on. It was $500 for all four new tires and they lasted me many thousands of miles. I like sitting under a shade tree in the parking lot watching them do the work. I like paying them and driving off feeling like I have shopped locally and am not lining the pockets of some corporation.

Maybe it's "feel good" value?

That's good... you like sitting under a shaded tree and dealing with someone local. It's not just about the money, it's what you get out of the experience.
