@ginx : Mine is a little more heartbreaking than yours. Slightly longer too. I was sixteen and dating and having life experiences I shouldn't have been having. My first 'real' (if you know what I mean) boyfriend was five years older and worked across town managing a pizza shop. He took me to school on Monday, Dec. 9th and said he had to hurry, get gas and get to work. That night, I kept calling his house to make sure he made it home okay and either got no answer or his roommate told me he hadn't made it home yet. All night. I even snuck my mom's car out and drove over to their house. Roommate said he never made it home. I was so worried he had gotten into an accident. Even with being up all night, I still had to get up and go to school. Come to find out, he had run out of time and wasn't able to get gas on his way to work Monday. Driving out of the parking lot after work, his car ran out of gas. So he was stuck in that parking lot out of gas and just slept in his car. What a relief!! So, he picks me up from school Wednesday afternoon and says he needs to go to the post office. I see him in through the window, so I decide to sneek around looking for a receipt for my Christmas present (it was December). What I found was a gas credit card receipt for, you guessed it, MONDAY, DECEMBER 9th. I was beyond hysterical. He looked out of the post office window at me and I slammed that receipt against the windshield. His face dropped so fast .... The truth was he took one of his employee's home and she invited him in for a drink with her and her roommate. One thing led to another and you can figure out the rest. Worst part ... I ended up marrying him anyway.

Sucks to admit I've been that POS .. but I never claimed to be virtuous, it came later in life

EVERYTHING was exposed. Because of the affair, it was assumed he was involved in the theft. They never proved it, though. My best friend who lives in Austin called me one afternoon when it hit all the news stations there. We were laughing so hard!!

Lord I could write a book. 😂
MrsT doesn't feel like reopening old wounds right now though. @catmae I do know those situations all to well. Where I'm convinced he isn't doing something that he probably is, feeling relief, only to find out later it was BS. Spent 10 years with one. I also had a 5 year older bf my senior year. He was very similar to the other one too. Spent 4 years with that one. Ok how about something very recent and not so much betrayal as….idk the word. I hate my boss. He never acknowledges anything I do even though I'm the one doing most of the work in half the hours. I'll do 90% of something while someone else does 10 and they get the praise. Tonight he asked me to set something up early, during store hours. It's incredibly hard to do and not how it's usually done because of interruptions. So I'm out there having to stop and help people, quickly running out of time. He comes up to me, "it's times like this don't you wish A and B were still here?" (two people that recently quit. One who never did a damn thing and another who only did the bare minimum.) Then he praises B for how quickly she would have gotten it done. When I tell you I was ****, that doesn't even begin to describe it. Then I stayed 45 minutes after the damn store closed to fix something that he ****ed up by giving me the wrong info and giving it to me too far in advance to be able to confirm it. I'm tired of pushing myself so hard and never even being noticed. While people who do nothing get rewards and awards.
And I'm not really one who needs to be noticed but to constantly act like everybody else is better than me is just too much.

I had a roommate in my 20s. we were inseparable. People couldn't tell where he stopped and i started. He was over the top, think a little more extra than your normal person. It jived with me during that time in my life. There was a tragedy where he lost his 2 year old daughter. Prior to that he had lost his older brother from cirrhosis. Shortly afterwards he lost his sister to cancer. Somewhere in there i had my daughter. I had a vibe that i didnt want my daughter to be wrapped in or anywhere near to what I perceived to be his bad juju. He had done other things that made me think a separation was the best solution, and i took advantage of those to create space - absolute space.
@ginx :
I have a spelling bee story, also. Ironically my son was in fourth grade, also. He was winning, but the principal said mustard, but emphasized MusTURD. So of course my poor baby spelled it wrong! LOL! **** me off, but he went on to be a Marine, a Fireman and he is getting a Commercial pilot's license so I got over it.
