I mentioned it in that post about the multi car crash but didn't give a link. I'll never understand how this happens so often. I know a lot of times it's break/gas confusion but who floors it in reverse? @West-Tex :

@MrsT : well, @MrsT, you are hearing from a driver (me) who put her car into reverse mistakenly ….. while I was at / in Tommy's car wash.
It had been a comedy of errors the entire morning. I was an appointment for bloodwork in Humble. The traffic was insane with the 1960 construction to blame. I had attempted to turn around at Woodland Hills and 1960 and got stuck in the mud. A nice couple with a big truck and a tow belt rescued me and the lady suggested I get my car washed because the excessive mud might cause an accident. So, I did. For some insane reason I hit reverse instead of forward when exiting and hit a piece of equipment.The back window of my Santa Fe was shattered and I had quite the story when I got home. My husband was understandably upset but I wasn't having any of that. I had been complaining of all the craziness on 1960 and this validated my feelings. A few months later I had a small stroke and hung up my keys for good and don't regret it a bit. That's my story and I'm sticking to it lol.

@ParksideRes :
Yes. I once had a guy plow into the front of my car because he was wearing a boot cast and couldn't tell the difference between his break and gas, allegedly. He didn't even get a ticket, in fact he got to drive away while I had to have my car towed and worked on for three weeks.

This kind of stuff is terrifying. I remember reading about an elderly lady in Houston who ran into the post office and killed a woman. I hope that I have the courage to hang up the keys when it is time.

Thankfully the insurance was actually great, even gave me a rental. The cops were his buddies.
