I read that snakes give off pheromones that beacon out to all their passing snakes friends that they are in an awesome den site so they can join them, and the pheromones don't go away when the snakes do.

@shelly1717 : I have no idea what they eat, maybe field mice. I just know I hate snakes.

@ginx : Yep. It was an article regarding a rattle snake infested house, I think they were rattlers, that some poor couple bought. I've slept a few nights since reading it, but I think they were able to eventually successfully sue, get reimbursed and get out of the contract. The previous owners had hired professionals to remove the snakes in the past, plus the realtor was related to the previous owners and knew the history.
