The copperhead is a snake that many people struggle to identify. Their pattern is quite recognizable around 99% of the time, but that 1% contains a lot of crazy genetic mutations and pattern variations. Believe it or not, every single one of these snakes is a copperhead, with each one containing a different genetic mutation or aberrancy, except for the final picture which contains an average copperhead sitting by some mothballs (which do not effect them).

@Blackhorse77 : This is very interesting and educational. I had absolutely NO idea that copperheads could come in such variation! Of course, I admit to being afraid of pretty much any snakes.

I'm surprised you didn't show a Broad-banded Copperhead ... they are very common here in Texas.

This is not true. A lot of non-venomous snakes
 
@Catmae : It's good info. I'm going with it, LOL. I'm not going to have time to decifer their markings when I'm running.

@eighteen : Just lean over closely and ask it in a menacing tone if it's poisonous or not. I hear they'll answer you pretty quickly.
