@Thatguywhodraws : A seed doesn't do anything (seemingly), but a young plant changes and grows. So, a seed must be non-living. A leaf that has fallen off a tree is dead, which also means not alive. This must mean dead leaves are non-living things

Living to me. They grow, need water and sun. They also die. That's my opinion.

I would say not alive until it germinates

The word I'm thinking is dormant. Waiting until all of the things it needs to grow are happening. I say alive

They are alive. Louis Pasteur demonstrated that life cannot spontaneously occur from non-living material. It must extend from existing life (biogenesis).

Guess it all depends on your definition of "alive"....

It is organic...it is living.

If a seed is dead, it can't produce a new plant. But when the new sprig bursts through, the seed dies.
