So no school tomorrow!

I was surprised to hear that but I'm praying we receive no serious impact/damage from this storm. Either I've missed watching the weather lately or this slipped up on us suddenly.

I use to have to go to school when they did not have power from a bad storm knocking it out. They get out for everything now.

Today was supposed to be the first football game for 8th graders. My GS is disappointed. He was excited to play.

@CarolS : What they should do is just take this week and append it to the end of the schedule.
They haven't been able to practice properly because of the heat anyways.

@Reese: It's rare for a disturbance to be so weak and disorganized and then strengthen so quickly when it was hugging the Gulf coast. Those of us who watch the daily YT weather channel "Mr. Weatherman" by meteorologist Brian Shields were keeping an eye on this for over a week now. He's the best!

@dac2010 : I think it is fear of liability. There have been several really bad cases of school not being canceled and then kids not being able to get home and all of that.
