Parking On Main Thoroughfares

Where do people park if the driveway is full? ( ie: numerous visitors, holidays, etc) I don't have an issue with it as there are 2 lanes going in each direction.

It bothers me more when it is a busy street (like on the way to the school) with only 1 lane each-especially when the driveway is empty. So selfish to block traffic for YOUR convenience.

cheryltom : That's something they should have assessed before purchase. Side streets aren't that far away.There used to be common ordinances that there wasn't street parking on those types of streets or streets of certain widths.Don't get me started about garages full of garbage instead of their true purpose.Oh, and blocking sidewalks

Most of the time there's not even a car in the driveway.
There used to be one that parked on a curve in the Oaks. You couldn't even see around the car. One day I drove by and it had a huge scrape along the side, they didn't park there anymore. 😂

Well, you can tell I've lived up north too long because every time I drive Atascocita Shores Drive,I think of snow routes where you're not supposed to park on the main streets because the snow plows.

Possibly address this issue with our Harris County Commissioner. There is an option on his website for problems.

Repair services, HVAC, plumbers, cleaning crews, and more will not park in your driveway.

There is no law against it. I personally wouldn't do it, but to each his own.

1ontheroadagain : I never had that happen as they all park in my driveway. Those that do park on the road place orange traffic cones for safety purposes. My concern is not periodic parking (parties, service providers, etc.), it's those gat use it as a "driveway" on a daily basis (often while the driveway is empty). It's a road, not a parking spot.I realize it is legal. But it is also unsafe for other drivers, as well as for the parked vehicle.
