The storm system churning in the gulf is projected to turn more towards Mississippi and Louisiana, and stay away from our area of Texas. Heavy rainfall is still a possibility though, so continue to monitor weather reports.

Latest from NWS Hurricane Center:

A Tropical Storm & Surge Watch has been issued from the Mouth of the Mississippi River to Morgan City, Louisiana. Tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area by late Thursday or early Friday. The system is moving toward the west-southwest near 8 mph (13 km/h). A motion toward the west-southwest or southwest is expected through Thursday morning, followed by a turn toward the west late Thursday and a turn toward the west-northwest on Friday. By early Saturday, a northwest motion is expected. On the forecast track, the system is expected to approach the central U.S. Gulf Coast this weekend.

Needs to stay out of my way this weekend as I am driving to Lake Charles on Friday late morning, coming home Sunday. Think I will say a late night prayer tonight kneeling on the side of my bed. Cha-Ching!

I'm hoping we don't get it too bad... DS having his B-day party this weekend... at the water park. We've had it planned for so long and he's been worried about it all week.
