Vehicular Crimes investigators have charged a father with murder for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and causing a fatality accident that took his daughter's life.
On Monday, December 31, 2018, at approximately 8:30 PM, Jorge Ledezma was operating a blue 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound in the 14200 block of Crosby Freeway.
At the same time, Carrillo Ubaldo was operating a black 2004 Ford Expedition northbound in the 7200 block of the E Sam Houston Parkway northbound feeder Rd.
Ledezma disregarded a traffic control device, entered the intersection, and collided with Ubaldo.
11-year old Vanessa Ledezma was seated in the passenger's side rear seat of the Chevrolet at the time of the crash. She was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, via Life Flight, where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Ledezma was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he showed signs of impairment. He was arrested, charged with Felony Murder, and is being held on no bond.
Two other family members of Ledezma that were in the vehicle were not injured in the crash.
This case is currently under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
