The driver was identified as 33-year-old Jose Morales from Humble. Morales displayed several signs of intoxication, so Standardized Field Sobriety tests were administered. A sample of his breath was also obtained, which revealed he was nearly 3 times the legal limit.
"Jose Morales was arrested, booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC > .15%. His bond is set at $2,000.00 out of County Court 002. Luckily our deputy was out of his patrol vehicle when it was struck and no one was injured." - Constable Mark Herman
