According to reports from PCT 4, in the early morning hours of June 15, 2018, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office conducted a traffic stop in the 11500 block of Will Clayton Parkway in Atascocita.

During the course of the traffic stop, another vehicle struck one of the patrol vehicles on scene then came to a stop. Constable Deputies quickly rendered aid to the driver.

The driver was identified as 33-year-old Jose Morales from Humble. Morales displayed several signs of intoxication, so Standardized Field Sobriety tests were administered. A sample of his breath was also obtained, which revealed he was nearly 3 times the legal limit.

"Jose Morales was arrested, booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC > .15%. His bond is set at $2,000.00 out of County Court 002. Luckily our deputy was out of his patrol vehicle when it was struck and no one was injured." - Constable Mark Herman
