Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and the HCSO family wish you a Happy New Year and remind you that deputies will be out enforcing the law in an effort to reduce alcohol and drug-related traffic incidents this weekend.

The HCSO's Vehicular Crimes Unit and DWI Task Force, along with other area law enforcement partners, will be conducting DWI enforcement initiatives throughout unincorporated Harris County this Saturday and Sunday, December 30 and 31.

HCSO will be able to provide extra deputies to patrol our streets thanks to a Texas Department of Transportation Impaired Driving Mobilization grant.

“For those that choose to drive drunk, be warned that the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is out in force watching for you," Sheriff Gonzalez said. “ We have plenty of space in the county jail for people who endanger others’ lives by driving drunk. “

- Celebrate but DO NOT drink and drive! Remember, "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over."

We never go out on NYE- just not worth the risk of getting killed by a drunk driver!!!im still thinking about that poor women who lost her husband on Christmas- a drunk driver ran a red light and hit their car and then she gave birth a few hours after the wreck.
So yea hope they catch a bunch of drunks

@Jpgurl That is just horrible. Unfortunately, the drunk never thinks they are drunk.

I don't go out on a regular night, if I can avoid it. I'm certainly not going out on NYE. I'll be at home watching the Waterford Crystal ball drop, then listen/watch my neighbors spend thousands of dollars lighting up the night sky.
