Not sure of the circumstances and not saying it's the case. but some little ones are escape artists and can get into things they shouldn't. Childproof covers on door knobs and cabinet locks highly recommended. You can be a good parent and things can go south in a matter of seconds.
Hope for a good outcome here.

Hope he is reunited with his parents and somebody takes the time to find out where the disconnect was and how to prevent it in the future.

His parent(s) was probably reading and posting on ADC instead of paying attention to the child.

@OBalls

Yep, once they can reach doors, things change real quick! When our kids were that young I am amazed they never got out. They came close once and we started adding locks that were higher up.

For now, let's hope this little one gets with family quickly.

I'm happy they found his family. I was an escape artist at that age. One time, I went out my bedroom window and walked down the street to a high school baseball game. The Chief of Police was there and took me home, but didn't want to give me back to my mom because I told him she was going to beat me. My mom was most displeased.

I've known kids that could figure out those kid-proof doornob covers in a few minutes. I think a slide lock placed very high is the best idea, that was our solution.

@+1

Are there any updates yet? PCT 4 knew absolutely nothing (as usual) about it when I just called and asked.

@FNULNU1954

I shouldn't have said that, but info from PCT 4 is almost nonexistent...And it gets very frustrating. Out of all the places/people I contact on a regular basis, they're the only agency that creates this problem. It stinks because our sites cover their entire area. I've called, emailed, etc.. literally hundreds of times.

How scary. I can say my baby niece was able to go out her window in freezing cold and then be found crying at the door to get in. She's 17 now but we all give her a hard time about it. The parents weren't in the best neighborhood so this could have ended badly. Her mom was definitely not online or on a forum. It was nap time for the then 2 or 3 year old. It happens. Locks were put on her window.
