New law bans paper license plates in Texas

Two years before it becomes effective

@Maxsmom : The DMV will have to come up with secure procedures for dealers to issue the metal plates when you buy the vehicle

@Smokeybear : Oh ok . At least That will help with identifying those that use paper plates for criminal behavior

@Olaf: LOL! Whenever a police report mentions paper plates, my mind always pictures 2 side-by-side round cheapo plates attached over the license plate holder with numbers/letters written in crayon!

That's good being the last solution did not work. Let's see how this goes.

@West-Tex : Great law! Car thief's have been using fake paper plates forever!

Several years ago I saw an old, white, utility van driving slowly up & down streets in Forest Cove. When I noticed it had paper license plates, I called HPD. Sure enough, they were looking for property to steal, mostly because older people live in Forest Cove.
