In-N-Out is coming to Humble A longtime Golden Corral is still operating at the location, but the buffet business was hit hard during COVID and has struggled to recover.
HOUSTON - A retail property along FM 1960 just west of Deerbrook Mall is undergoing some changes - and will be home to a popular burger joint - after being scooped up by a young Houston-based commercial real estate company. Main Street Commercial Partners, founded in 2021, purchased the 220,000-square-foot Deerbrook Plaza Shopping Center at 9715-9813 FM 1960 Bypass in Humble in September and started beautifying the property last month, Anderson Smith, a partner at the firm, told the Houston Business Journal. The seller was Los Angeles-based Cannon-Unimat Commercial, according to CBRE, which represented that company in the transaction. Cannon-Unimat also owns part of the dilapidated Greenspoint Mall, according to its website. Also in January, Main Street signed a ground lease with Irvine, California-based In-N-Out Burger for part of its adjacent 2.2-acre property at 9663 FM 1960 Bypass, which currently still houses a long-time Golden Corral restaurant, Smith said. @West-Tex :
I thought half the people were afraid to go into Humble, or maybe that's just on KDC. 😂

@West-Tex : I've had In-N-Out a couple of times and both times it was nasty. Just my opinion.

That sucks!....I'll take the Golden Corral over a cheesy burger joint any day!....Not to mention that for a lot of seniors in the area, they frequent that restaurant instead of having to cook meals themselves so that place actually provides a "public service"....
Lemme see if I can find my "protest" gear.....

I doubt Golden Corral is struggling.....Place is always packed....In the linked-to article(link at bottom of this post) the developer says:
"Golden Corral does very well there, but the buffet business was hit very hard during Covid," Smith said. "And so with changing times - Luby's have been shutting down most of their locations; Golden Corral shut down quite a bit of theirs - we just saw the writing on the wall."
But....Covid was several years ago.....And since he said "we just saw the writing on the wall" that sounds like Golden Corral didn't have any say in the whole thing..... The Article I link to below also states that Golden Corral will close in December, be demolished, and a brand new In-N-Out and Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers will be built on the property....Both slated to open in the last quarter of 2027....
It's also interesting that the same "developers" are fixing up Deerbrook Plaza Shopping Center.....I've noticed some work being done there on top of the buildings...Bet they're going to put some "lipstick on the pig" and then raise all the rents....Outback Steakhouse already left the Shopping Center recently, not sure if it saw the "writing on the wall" or what....Dollar Tree will probably be next....I sure hope Total Wine doesn't get pushed out!....And I hope Half Price Books doesn't get the boot either.....I often stop by those places when I'm going to make a trip to Sam's Club....
