Looks like Fireworks are Back at the Overlook
According to the Tribune, the Fourth of July will be celebrated at the Overlook with free food and beverages along with splash stations for the kids. There will be patio dancing with the Mambo Jazz Kings from 6-10 PM. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 PM. My family is so glad this is back.
On July 5th, there will be fireworks again at the Overlook. There will be free food and beverages and live country music. Fireworks begin at dusk. Grounds open at 6 PM. This will be sponsored by Skero's Furniture

@+1 : Based off past displays, you'll need to be at the event. They don't go very high.

Yes. One is on the 4th of July and other is on the 5th of July. I found that interesting as well.

@ParksideRes : You are correct . And I hate it because we had a problem getting home because the streets were so blocked up & people walking in the middle of the street & not moving for cars to pass . Our street was a nasty mess they dumped their ash trays into the street & cups cans & what ever trash they had .

@tflea : I believe the fireworks are only Friday, July 5. This is the only thing I have found.

@bbk : The traffic was terrible and I didn't even go but was trying to get back to my house. It brings in more from other areas.

I love that people are willing to sponsor free events, but hate the way people act when visiting our neighborhood.

@Smokeybear : I'd rather pay for a hotdog! God only knows they will be shooting them off all over the neighborhood. I couldn't believe they are selling them in the center with HEB! That is way too close!
