She could have been suffering after-effects of small heart attacks leading up to this big one. That happened to my stepmom. For over a month all of the docs she went to kept telling her that she had a lingering flu virus. She felt absolutely awful and knew it was not a flu bug, but believed the docs. She wound up having a widow-maker heart attack at 54. She survived it because my dad crushed up an aspirin and put it under her tongue ASAP while waiting for paramedics. They told her she had really been having small heart attacks for the past 6 weeks. She did not have any of the classic symptoms, she had no clue at all. Her dad died at 55 from it.
