Why I no longer have a pool. I enjoy socializing with neighbors at the neighborhood pool. Much less expensive than maintaining my own, and I don't have to worry about the grandbaby getting away from me and into the pool. We had a pool in our Baton Rouge home, and I loved it. But we didn't install it until our youngest was 10.

West-Tex : Same. I know it was an accident, but residentential pools equipped with pool fences should be mandatory. Little kids are quick and fearless. It's highly unlikely that a small child could access the fence gate(s). My heart just breaks for these parents. Not only a life taken, but this family is forever changed...I pray they get showered with love and support and that they eventually learn to forgive themselves, which I assume is long journey.Just awful. 😥

So sad for the family. A precious life lost.

The crazy thing is it wasn't even their pool, she got into a neighbor's backyard.
