This reminds me about 25 years ago we got broken into and the intruders only ransacked the master bedroom, opened drawers, thrown upside down on floor, clothes dumped, bed mattress sideways, couldn't see the floor from all the mess and when the police came they were in my child no. 1's bedroom, who was about 8, looking around....I had to tell him "no, the robbers didn't touch this room, it always looks like this"...oh!

@MooMaw:

That was hilarious! I laughed so loud my girls both woke up wondering what was wrong! Oh course, they both fell back asleep after realizing food was NOT involved.

I know just what you mean. My DD couldn't keep her room clean to save her life! Even after I cleaned it and bought her everything from The Container Store.

It's all just a phase. When they move out and have to buy their own things will change. A friend once told me his dad was driving him crazy when I asked how their visit was going. He was going around the house turning on all the lights and leaving the door open. His dad came by for the paper the next day and I asked him why you doing that? Because he never turned one light out or ever closed the door behind him. No matter how much I'd *****. Old age is poetic justice. As we bid me a good day and walked away with his coffee and paper. And I think he had a skip in his step knowing it got under his son's skin. Lol
