Omg it annoys the crap out of me, made me late to work the other day. I was off for a week and had no idea they were still doing it. 🙄 I've been checking before leaving now.

They already did the East bound lane. Only doing the curbside lane. I appears that the pavement is being ground down to smooth it out. You can see where the grinder misses where there were low spots.

Smokeybear: I don't think it is being smoothed out. It looks like they are grooving it, my guess is to help prevent water pooling because the grooves are perpendicular to the direction of the road. Nevertheless, it really annoys me.

Not missing life in the big city but I will be back soon enough and will pass judgement at that point
