Humble Police / Handicapped parking
On Saturday we were at Jimmy John's in Humble (in front of Academy), as we walked in we saw a Humble police officer walking to his SUV. A little later my DH noticed that he was giving a ticket to someone. Hmh, ok, we had not seen if he had left. Then we noticed the officer again and he was looking at a SUV that was parked in the handicapped spot right in front of the UPS store. He waited until the women came out of the UPS store, then he asked her about it. When she entered the car she removed the handicapped tag immediately, pulled out of the spot and parked in one of the regular parking spots. Then had to wait until the officer had given her a ticket.
This is what I found it will cost:
"For a first-time offense, the law mandates a fine between $500 and $750. The exact amount is determined by the local jurisdiction where the ticket was issued. The fine will not be less than $500 for an initial conviction."
I mean if you are not handicapped, then you just don't park there!!!
