Exact reason why drunk driving should be automatically punishable by 10 years in prison and if you cause an accident 20 years and if you hurt someone life.

In Houston, you have lots of drunk drivers at all hours of the day.

Wanderer : I guess some are driving drunk while working. Sad to think people need to drink during the day

I have seen impaired drivers on many of the roads on many times. Usually the wors time to drive with drunks is Thursday to Sunday between 1100 PM to 600am. But you also have your alcoholics who still drink usually when they leave work after their shift.

Wanderer : Yes I would expect it to be in the afternoon not during the day.

I have a friend who bailed her daughter out for a drunk driving charge. I think it was her 3rd offense. Her dd was plenty old enough to know better. The daughter is a mother and yet continued drunk driving. Anyway, friend bails dd out and a week later -- you guessed it -- back in jail on another DWI. Friend did NOT bail her out. She told her dd that she couldn't afford to do it again. The dd got furious at my friend. The dd accused her of not loving her, blah, blah. But friend stayed firm. The attorney told the dd that she better watch it because she would be put in jail for a very long time if it happened again. (She eventually got out of jail but had to stay there for a while.) I didn't "go there" but I wanted to ask friend how she would feel if her daughter killed someone while out on bail that friend provided. Seriously. I really wanted to but didn't. I know she had been through it but . . . some people should not get bailed out.

West-Tex : Yep. And what is crazier is that the daughter was furious with her mother. Accused her of horrible things. I honestly think that if my girls ever spoke to me like that after I had stepped up to the plate that I would be going no contact. FAFO. I gave them some strong advice when they were teens. I told them that if they EVER pulled something like this the car would be sold, and I would never, ever assist them with car insurance or car purchase again. Wanna do this? Better invest in a good pair of tennis shoes because you're going to be walking. Thankfully, they did not FAFO. Most likely because I reinforced previous boundaries so they knew I meant what I said.
