Harris County Flood Watch Extended Through Wednesday Evening as Tropical Storm Edouard Approaches

A Flood Watch has been extended for Harris County through 7 PM Wednesday as Tropical Storm Edouard brings the potential for periods of heavy rainfall across Southeast Texas. According to the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston, widespread rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches are possible, with isolated areas potentially receiving 10 to 15 inches. During the heaviest storms, rainfall rates could reach 3 to 4 inches per hour.

Flash flooding could develop quickly, particularly along roadways and in low-lying or poor-drainage areas. Residents are encouraged to monitor weather conditions closely. Turn around, don't drown.
