With the climate toward our LEO's these days, it's good for some people to see their softer side.
I agree that individual charity, if truly from the heart, shouldn't be boasted/publicized but the Houston community is still reeling from the 3 officers' ambush and in sympathy for the slain officer's family. I see this gesture as a tool for healing.
Now, if they can just catch the POS who shot them, that would be a boatload of healing and relief.
