Harris County Constable Arrests Suspects for Illegal Weapon PossessionFrom the office of Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4CONSTABLES ARREST SUSPECTS FOR POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON.On July 7, 2024, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 19200 block of Atascocita Road. The occupants were identified as Xavier Gaines and Dontavius Mathes. Further investigation revealed that they were in possession of two Glock handguns that had been altered with a switch enabling the weapons to be fully automatic. One of the weapons was reported stolen to the Houston Police Department. "Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. Xavier Gaines' bond was set at $7,500.00 out of the 351st District Court. Dontavius Mathes' bond was set at $5,000.00 out of the 351st District Court." - Constable Mark Herman
