My oldest son lives in Uvalde. His house is next to the Leona river. Tuesday the river had about 6 feet to go before it made it to his house. It went down over night about 4 feet. Wednesday morning at about 4:30 he went out to check the water level and almost got struck by lightning. It hit his palm tree about 20 feet from him. At about 9am police stopped and told him they were under voluntary evacuation. The river was still down from over night so they were going to stay. About 11 they were told it was now a mandatory evacuation. So they packed and left about 2 to make it to Houston. 45 mins after they left the water came up about 6 feet to the road. It keep risen until it hit the slab of his house. It then started going back down. My son just got a report from his neighbor and it is coming back up. Water is at my sons fence so he has about 2 feet before it hits his slab. Then about 1 foot before it gets in the house. The sheriff just told my sons neighbor they better get out now. Him and a bout 3 others stayed. Please prey for everyone affected by this rain event.
