@TexasGal: It's actually a very positive sign that they are learning to manage the Lake Houston watershed better than in the past. There is still supposed to be construction to build additional gates so that there can be a more rapid response to changing conditions.

Lake Houston is very shallow lake; it does not take much rain to cause it to rise.
