I find empty locust shells around the yard all the time. But today I found one actively emerging from it's shell.

Big Difference... Since I have a veggie garden, I "pet" Cicada's but I "SQUASH" Locusts....OK, to be honest I may destroy the Locusts with a badminton racket for "fun", but it depends on where I find then at the time and the idea is the same....
