I recently went to a local fast food restaurant. I observed a person making food in the back while at the same time eating with their hands. In this case she had gloves on but the meager attempt at cleanliness was negated by her potentially getting saliva on the gloves while preparing other people's food. I have noticed this behavior at other fast food places as well. I have to believe these employees are taught better. If I was a manager and saw something like this that person would be fired on the spot. Another thing I have observed is fast food workers using their gloves while they sweep and mop around the food preparation area, but still continue to prepare food with the same gloves. When I see these practices I just walk out. Now I'm fully aware the same nasty stuff could be going on behind the scenes at other types of restaurants. It's just that fast food ones are normally more easy to observe. Does this disgust anyone else or is it just me?

Rocket- I love it when they handle money and then food. WTF- I walk out as well. I am extremely picky about where I will eat. My family makes fun of me all the time, but I don't give a crap.
I worked at McDonald's for 2 weeks in High School. You don't even want to know some of the stuff that goes on that you don't see.

Someone who worked at the roll throwing place told me it was super nasty.
Food dropped on the floor and served, kitchen utensils used to scrape grease off of the floor, general poor hygiene of employees (dirty nails and hands). One employee’s uniform would just get dirtier everyday so I doubt it was being washed regularly and the BO smell made me wonder if bathing was a priority.

I worked as a food runner, bus boy and dishwasher at The Hot Biscuit in Porter in the late 80's.... The only time I ate there was when I prepared the food myself. I never ate there after I quit. Some of the stuff that went on in the kitchen almost turned me off of restaurants altogether.
Gross! Recently at Krogers there was an employee behind the counter at the bakery eating some chicken, licking her/ his fingers, and all the while flipping her/ his long hair side to side.
Granted he was not working the counter but he was eating on the metal table where the package the baked goods. I haven't been back to Krogers since.

Honestly, fast food workers don't get paid enough to care about the quality or sanity of your food. If I made minimum wage I'd slack off too.
